Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking and presentation. This role is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of our kitchen, supporting the culinary staff, and delivering high-quality dishes to our guests. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, along with a passion for food safety and excellent service.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure timely meal preparation
- Assist with cooking tasks under the supervision of the head/Sous chef or kitchen leader
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle food with care to prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Support the team during busy hours by efficiently preparing components for menu items
- Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency in dish quality
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying management of shortages
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of meal preparation and cooking techniques
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends and evenings if required
- A genuine interest in the food industry and a commitment to delivering quality service
