Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook to join our commissary kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing exceptional meal preparation. This position is focused on high-volume food preparation in a fast-paced commissary kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Preparing large batches of sauces and kitchen recipes
- Preparing and cooking high volume of proteins
- Operating commercial high-volume cooking equipment and machinery
- Ensure all food handling and preparation complies with food safety regulations.
- Chopping, washing, and preparing ingredients
- Portioning and organizing ingredients for daily production
- Assisting with daily kitchen production and prep needs
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Requirements:
- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy items (approximately 20-30kg 45-65lbs)
- Food Safe certification required
- Previous commissary kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies as needed
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety standards is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A passion for the culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the food industry.
Schedule:
- 5 days per week
- 8-hour shift

Pay: $18.50-$21.00 per hour
