THE ROLE
As our Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you are the technical anchor in every deal. You partner with our Account Executive on direct sales and with our channel partners — integrators and service providers selling pivot into their own customer base — on partner-led deals. Your job: increase technical sales capacity and convert more trials into closed-won.
pivot is net-new functionality in the AV operations world — we don't replace an existing tool, we change the way AV teams work. Most prospects are technical (AV operations leaders, support managers, engineering, IT), and you'll be the person they trust for a straight technical answer.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead deep, workflow-driven product demos tailored to AV operations, support, engineering, and IT/InfoSec stakeholders
- Own customer trials end-to-end — scoping, success criteria, configuration, and driving to a clear go/no-go decision
- Run technical discovery to surface fit, blockers, and integration requirements early in the cycle
- Lead responses to security questionnaires, architecture reviews, and InfoSec evaluations
- Manage integration conversations across CRM, ERP, PSA, ticketing, ServiceNow CMDB, APIs, and webhooks
- Represent pivot at ~5 industry trade shows per year and hand off signed customers cleanly to Customer Success
- Feed structured product signal back to our Product team with the context to act on it
WHAT YOU BRING
- Software/SaaS background with strong, credible technical demo skills
- Experience running customer trials or POCs to a clear go/no-go decision
- Fluency in REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, and SaaS integration patterns
- Comfort with enterprise security questionnaires and architecture conversations
- Strong written communication — trial plans, technical summaries, InfoSec responses
- Commercial awareness — you can tell when a technical issue has become a deal risk and act on it
- Calm, credible presence with senior technical and operational stakeholders
WHAT SETS YOU APART
- Experience selling into AV, IT operations, managed services, or UC environments
- Familiarity with AV manufacturers (Crestron, Shure, Biamp, QSC, Aver, Logitech) and meeting-room platforms (Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Webex Rooms, BYOD)
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow, including CMDB concepts
- Channel partner enablement experience — supporting integrators and service providers as a route to market
