Reports to the Manager of Finance
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team on a full-time, twelve-fifteen-month contract. In this role, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization by maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and assisting with general accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Record financial transactions such as invoices, receipts, and payments
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies
- Maintain and update accounting records and filing systems
- Prepare and enter data into accounting software
- Verify accuracy of financial documents and correct errors
- day-to-day cash-handling from all SRC-administered sources and accounts
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Math and data entry skills
- Communication and problem-solving abilities
- familiarity with aspects of municipal, provincial and federal taxation and fees affecting the corporation, including regulatory compliance, the preparation and execution of forms, and the maintenance of records
- Ability to work independently
Education and Experience
- Previous work in accounting and finance
- A business or accounting diploma/degree
- Previous experience with Point-of-Sale systems
