Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Construction accounting and administration position based in Ancaster, Ontario.
The Construction accounting and administration is responsible for managing project-based financial records, tracking job costs, supporting progress billing, payroll and ensuring accurate reporting across multiple active construction projects.
This role works closely with project managers and site supervisors to monitor budgets, employee hours, subcontractor payments, and cost allocations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting for all construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
Compile accurate payroll hours daily and submit weekly payroll
Maintain accurate job cost tracking for multiple construction projects
Process accounts payable and receivable, including subcontractor invoices and progress billings
Manage holdbacks, lien releases, and construction-related compliance documentation
Prepare and reconcile project budgets, cost reports, and variance analysis
New employee on-boarding and safety ticket tracking
Qualifications
Strong experience in construction accounting
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Jonas, or other construction ERP systems)
Knowledge of progress billing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and construction holdbacks, stat decs
Ability to prepare project financial reports and cost analysis
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
3+ years of bookkeeping experience in a construction, infrastructure, or contracting environment preferred
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
