What you'll be doing
As a Senior Consultant, Technology Architecture – Capital Markets, you'll join CIBC’s Technology Architecture department to lead the delivery of architecture across multiple business solutions, ensuring consistency and alignment with business strategies and CIBC’s enterprise-wide architecture. You'll develop the architecture solutions and future state for the Capital Markets line of business, integrating solutions and proactively identifying and resolving gaps or inconsistencies in application architectural design. You'll initiate project activities to optimize or enhance enterprise services architecture offerings, support business objectives by driving solutions that meet strategic goals, and recommend as well as assist in building a long-term architectural roadmap for Capital Markets applications. Your role will also leverage your deep expertise in financial products, systems integration, programming, cloud infrastructure, data analytics, security, and architectural design to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Architecture Leadership – Lead architecture initiatives within the Capital Markets portfolio, ensuring solutions align with enterprise strategies and patterns.
Relationship Building – Collaborate with business and technology teams to drive solutions that support business goals and strategies.
Building Long-Term Architectural Roadmap – Serve as a visionary architecture leader, shaping the future state for the portfolio you support.
Final Architecture Delivery – Complete final architecture for all projects with due diligence, providing clear descriptions of solution architecture and articulating any risks identified.
Technical Expertise – Apply your knowledge of financial products, systems integration, programming, cloud platforms, data analytics, security, and architectural frameworks to deliver best-in-class solutions.
Who you are
You bring significant architecture experience . You have at least 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Architect, leading complex projects and delivering impactful solutions.
You're skilled in systems integration . You have experience integrating trading platforms, risk management systems, and market data feeds, including API design and implementation.
You have strong programming and scripting abilities . You’re proficient in languages such as Python, SQL, and occasionally C++ or Java, with the ability to build data pipelines and automate tasks.
You understand cloud and infrastructure . You bring knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
You excel in data analytics and modeling . You have skills in data analysis and visualization (using Tableau, Power BI), and experience with quantitative modeling and risk calculations.
You're aware of security and compliance . You follow cybersecurity best practices and understand regulatory requirements, including data privacy and trade surveillance.
You are proficient in architecture and design . You can create architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and solution blueprints, and are familiar with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman.
You leverage collaboration tools . You are comfortable using project management and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, and MS Teams.
