Medical Office Coordinator

As a Medical Practice Coordinator, you will act as a key liaison between our physicians and patients, helping us maintain our commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
Alberta Cornea & Cataract Consultants is a thriving, high-volume specialty practice where teamwork, efficiency, accuracy, and professional, patient-focused service are essential. We are looking for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment, can confidently juggle multiple responsibilities, and remains composed, organized, and highly accurate in all aspects of their work during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome, register, and assist patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Answer and direct incoming calls from patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers using a multi-line phone system.
- Schedule appointments based on referrals received from other medical offices.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments according to physician recommendations and patient needs.
- Confirm upcoming appointments with patients.
- Scan, upload, and accurately index documents into electronic patient records within our paperless charting system.
Shifts:
- 40 hours per week
- Must be willing to work Saturdays
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Friendly, compassionate, and professional demeanour with a patient-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is considered an asset.
*1-2 years of medical office experience preferred
*1-2 years of optical experience preferred
*Experience with HealthQuest considered an asset
