Job description:
The Division of Continuing Studies at the University of Victoria invites applications for instructors for select Vietnamese language conversation courses. These classes are part of our World Languages offerings, which are non-credit language courses that focus on real-world communication for working professionals and members of the community. Currently, we are seeking instructors for the evening sections of online evening sections of Vietnamese : Level 1 (September 2026 term) and Level 1-2 (January 2026) . Each of these sections are offered two hours a week over ten weeks in an online format. This posting requires native-level fluency in Vietnamese and previous language teaching experience in a classroom setting for adult learners. We are especially interested in candidates with experience teaching Vietnamese in the adult education post-secondary context. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the field of Vietnamese language or literature, or in the field of education (or an equivalent combination of an undergraduate degree in another area plus related experience). Preferred requirements Applicants should have:
Native-level fluency in Vietnamese (CEFR C2 or equivalent)
- a bachelor’s degree in Vietnamese language, literature or in the field of education
- a minimum of three years’ language teaching experience, ideally in the field of adult continuing education
