Job Description:
Quidi Vidi Brewery is proud to be the largest craft brewery in Newfoundland, and we are excited to grow our team! Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Procurement and Inventory Coordinator will help ensure the efficient sourcing of materials and services that support our brewery and warehouse locations. The role involves sourcing quality ingredients and materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and coordinating with various departments to support production and sales goals. Key Responsibilities:
Procurement:
· Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and quality for ingredients, packaging, and equipment
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
· Monitor market trends to anticipate changes in prices and availability of materials
· Manage purchase orders, coordinate shipments of goods, and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods
· Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain
Inventory Management:
· Monitor inventory and maintain accurate records using our ERP (Encompass Technologies), including up to date inventory costings
· Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies including month end counts
· Ensure inventory levels are adequate to meet production and sales demands without overstocking
· Work closely with production planning to ensure materials are available when required.
Quality Control:
· Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet our quality standards
· Address and resolve any issues related to quality or supply disruptions
· Work closely with the brewing and packaging teams to understand their requirements and address any procurement-related concerns
Administrative:
· Maintain accurate and organized procurement records and documentation
· Prepare and present regular reports on inventory status, procurement activities, and cost-saving initiatives for finance and other stakeholders
· Assist in budget preparation and cost management efforts
·Assist with cash flow and purchasing variance analysis
Required Knowledge and Experience:
· Degree or diploma in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
· Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or inventory coordination, preferably in the food and beverage industry
· Strong negotiation and communication skills
· Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
· Passion for craft beer and knowledge of brewing ingredients and processes is a plus
