Job Summary
Ottawa Equipment & Hydraulic Inc. (OEH) is seeking a skilled Installation Technician to join our growing team. This position focuses on the installation, assembly, and commissioning of truck-mounted equipment including Palfinger cranes, hooklifts, snow and ice equipment, hydraulic systems, and custom truck builds.
The successful candidate will work with hydraulics, electrical systems, fabrication, and mechanical installations to deliver high-quality truck packages for customers across Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Install truck-mounted cranes, hooklifts, and hydraulic equipment.
- Perform hydraulic plumbing and hose routing.
- Install PTOs, pumps, reservoirs, valves, and hydraulic components.
- Perform 12V and 24V electrical installations and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and installation drawings.
- Mount and install equipment on truck chassis following manufacturer specifications.
- Perform drilling, cutting, grinding, and fabrication as required.
- Assist with welding and structural modifications.
- Conduct testing, inspections, and final commissioning of completed builds.
- Diagnose and correct installation issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Complete quality control inspections and documentation.
- Manage some parts
Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid G-class driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a shop environment.
- Experience with hydraulics.
- Experience with crane or hooklift installations.
- Ability to search parts.
- Creativeness.
- Must have some tools
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
