Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team in a vibrant food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily operations, support staff, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety. Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, and hospitality is essential, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS. A background in supervising teams, managing restaurant or hotel operations, and handling food safety protocols will be highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth service flow.
- Supervise and motivate team members, including interviewing, training, and scheduling staff to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards.
- Manage cash handling procedures and POS transactions accurately using Micros POS or similar systems.
- Support customer service initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service, including serving and hospitality duties when necessary.
- Monitor cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with health regulations.
- Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling costs.
- Lead by example in maintaining a positive work environment and fostering teamwork.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant management, including supervising teams and managing restaurant operations.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms.
- Previous experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or bars is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Experience with interviewing and onboarding new team members.
- Knowledge of the food industry trends and best practices in restaurant management.
