Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Water Resources Engineer to join the Integrated Water Management group in one of our Ontario offices, including Markham, Toronto, Mississauga, Whitby, Peterborough, St. Catherines, Ottawa, or Waterloo offices. In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of the assigned projects and tasks, including ensuring all technical project requirements are addressed in accordance with the required criteria, coordinating and reviewing the work of junior engineers and technical staff assigned to your projects, adhering to the schedule and budget, and providing client liaison including GHD internal clients. In addition, as your career with GHD progresses you may develop your own clients and provide leadership in the growth of the team while assisting in the development of the business into other associated areas of work.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Undertaking and leading a range of hydrology and hydraulic analyses for stormwater management, transportation drainage, and flood mitigation projects.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff related to hydrologic and hydraulic models or analysis methods.
- Coordination with other engineering disciplines for an integrated design
- Preparing water resource design reports, drawings, construction specifications and permit applications.
- Coordination with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.
- Developing and maintaining client relationships being the key client contact for water resource related projects.
- Driving to grow the business by actively participating in proposal preparation and business development activities.
- Bachelor’s in Civil or Water Resources Engineering. Master’s or PhD degree is considered an asset.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in conducting water resource projects, preferably in a consulting role, including hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, stormwater management, highway/road and rail/transit drainage design, flood management, storm sewer and channel design, and dam hydrotechnical studies.
- Experience with MTO and/or Metrolinx projects is considered an asset.
- Thorough understanding of MECP and Conservation Authorities guidelines, and proficient in Low Impact Development / Green Infrastructure design and application.
- Proven technical writing and communication skills.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license in Ontario and willing to travel within Ontario and Canada as required.
- Experience using specialized numerical modelling software (e.g. EPA/PC-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, SWM/OTT-HYMO, InfoWorks ICM).
Experience using 2-D hydraulic modelling (e.g. HEC-RAS 6.0, MIKE, InfoWorks ICM) is considered an asset.

* The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $116,000. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location.
