Our new Family Practice is seeking an experienced Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our friendly and collaborative clinic on a part-time basis. Our team currently consists of one physician and two Medical Office Assistants.
The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in medical billing, referrals, and patient administration who is also flexible enough to provide additional coverage during staff absences or maternity leave. There is potential for this position to transition into a full-time role in the future.
POSITION BRIEF: 1 PT Position (one day per week), additional hours available to provide coverage for vacations, maternity leave, and other staff absences
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Processing physician referrals
- MSP, ICBC, and private billing
- Booking and scheduling patient appointments
- Greeting patients and confirming or updating demographic information
- Managing EMR messages and maintaining accurate patient records
- Answering incoming telephone calls and responding to general patient inquiries
- Providing clinical support as required
- Assisting with general administrative duties within the clinic
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum three years of experience working in a Family Practice/General Practice medical office
- Experience using OSCAR Pro or another version of OSCAR EMR is considered an asset
- Typing speed of 50 WPM or higher
- MOA Certificate is considered an asset but is not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Friendly, professional, and patient-focused
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Start Date: Early August 2026
Wage: $20-24/hour- based on experience
