Position Highlights
The Certificate of Recognition (COR) Advisor supports employers across British Columbia in developing and maintaining effective occupational health and safety management systems through SafetyDriven's COR Program.
Working with employers, internal and external auditors, and WorkSafeBC, this role provides technical guidance, supports audit quality assurance activities, delivers training, and helps employers understand and successfully navigate COR requirements. This position combines occupational health and safety knowledge with strong customer service, relationship building, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Job Status & Location
Permanent full-time position based in Langley, BC, with a progressive hybrid work arrangement as the successful candidate becomes established in the role.
Compensation & Benefits Overview
The salary range for this position is $72,000 to $81,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Reporting Relationship & Organizational Structure
The COR Advisor reports directly to the Manager – Industry Health and Safety Services and works closely with Senior Advisors and other team members within the COR Program.
Major Responsibilities
Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program
- Support the administration and continuous improvement of SafetyDriven’s COR Program.
- Review audits for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Conduct quality assurance activities, including shadow audits.
- Provide coaching and feedback to auditors and support their development.
- Maintain program records and reporting using internal systems and software.
- Track and report on program performance and support continuous improvement.
- Support the development of COR tools, templates, and resources.
Client Services & Occupational Health and Safety Support
- Build and maintain relationships with employers in the COR Program.
- Provide practical occupational health and safety advice and support.
- Help employers develop and improve health and safety management systems.
- Review documentation and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support client needs.
Training & Education
- Develop, review, and update occupational health and safety training materials.
- Deliver training to employers, auditors, and industry stakeholders.
- Support auditor onboarding and ongoing development.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Stakeholder & Industry Engagement
- Represent SafetyDriven with WorkSafeBC, employers, and industry partners.
- Participate in committees, working groups, and industry initiatives.
- Promote the COR Program through events, conferences, and outreach.
Continuous Improvement
- Review audit results, feedback, and industry trends to identify improvements.
- Stay current with occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Support internal projects and program enhancements.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum one year of occupational health and safety experience gained through employment, consulting, internships, practicums, or similar environments.
- Minimum one year of experience working in the trucking, transportation, logistics, courier, moving and storage, or related industry.
- Experience supporting occupational health and safety management systems and providing practical guidance to employers or clients.
- Ability to interpret and explain legislation, standards, and technical requirements in a clear and practical manner.
- Experience delivering presentations, training, or educational sessions.
- Working knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, including the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with ability to travel throughout British Columbia.
Preferred Competencies
- Experience working with a health and safety association, WorkSafeBC Certifying Partner, or similar organization.
- Experience supporting employers participating in the WorkSafeBC Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program.
- Experience reviewing occupational health and safety documentation, management systems, or audit reports.
- Experience with industry outreach, training delivery, or safety campaigns.
- Understanding of the occupational health and safety challenges faced by small, medium, and large employers.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback and explain technical information.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment when handling confidential information.

Pay: $72,000.00-$81,000.00 per year
