Job Summary
The Logistics and Distribution Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient, accurate, and cost-effective movement of products to our customers while creating a high-performance culture within the logistics, transportation and warehouse teams. This role exists to support exceptional customer service through reliable delivery, strong inventory control, operational excellence, traffic management, and effective team leadership.
Duties
Logistics and Transportation:
- Oversee company fleet operations,
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers,
- Select and maintain partnerships with transportation providers that support reliable and cost-effective delivery performance,
- Manage fleet maintenance programs and vehicle utilization,
- Manage space requirements and planning,
- Prioritize on-time delivery by ensuring that enough transport is available to meet deadlines,
- Confirm delivery appointment requests from suppliers,
- Hold transport providers accountable to offering the best prices and service experience.
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee all warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, and organized product flow,
- Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy,
- Ensure warehouse space, equipment and labour resources are utilized effectively,
- Develop and maintain operational procedures that support accuracy and productivity,
- Review staffing levels and optimization. The focus is on having the right people in the right roles.
Planning and Cost Management:
- Plan daily, weekly, and seasonal operations to maintain organization and efficiency,
- Monitor and control departmental expenses to remain within budget,
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction,
- Implement processes that improve productivity, accuracy and customer service,
- Be technologically capable of understanding data shown in our ERP and using that information to plan deliveries.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, coach and develop team members,
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and customer focus,
- Address performance issues promptly and professionally,
- Ensure team members have the tools, training and support needed to succeed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Maintain a safe work environment and promote safe work practices,
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable transportation, warehouse, and health and safety regulations,
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management, supply chain logistics, or distribution operations,
- Supervising or team management experience within a manufacturing or warehousing environment,
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems is preferred,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; experience with data analysis tools is a benefit,
- Demonstrated skills in process improvement,
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently,
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments,
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles including purchasing, order picking, packaging, and logistics optimization.

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
