Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care while assisting ophthalmologists in various clinical tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients achieve optimal eye health.

Waverley Eye Care Centre is a well-established, independent optometry clinic with over 30 years of experience. Located in a spacious 4000 sq ft facility, we offer a full scope of optometry services and feature state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including OCT, Visual Field, Optos, axial length biometry, topography, meibography, and more. Our clinic has a warm, family-friendly atmosphere with a team that has built lasting relationships with our loyal patient base. We are conveniently located with free parking in Southwest Winnipeg, serving patients across a range of eye care needs from myopia management to advanced dry eye treatments.
Eyes on Bridgwater is a growing clinic established 8 years ago, offering a modern, patient-focused environment. With one fully equipped exam lane, our team uses advanced diagnostic technology like Optos, axial length biometry, topography, and i-Care. Located in a rapidly growing community, we also offer free parking and are committed to providing exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary eye exams and tests to assess patients' vision and eye health.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) for all patient interactions.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and treatment options.
- Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
- Collaborate with optical staff to facilitate the sale of eyewear and related products.
- Provide support in pediatrics when necessary, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients.
- Perform a range of ophthalmic tests, including but not limited to: OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), Visual Fields, Biometry, Lensometry, Auto refraction, Tonometry, Optomap retinal photos, Colour vision and stereopsis testing, Dry eye testing, Macumira treatments for dry AMD
- Conduct contact lens fittings and follow-up care
- Take payments, process bookings, and manage patient appointments
- Make patient referrals as necessary and send patient reminders
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a comfortable, professional experience for patients
