Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our pet care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with animals and possess the technical expertise to provide grooming services that enhance the health and appearance of dogs or cats. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly 1-on-1 grooming environment dedicated to animal well-being, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and ensuring pet safety.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences
- Assess each dog’s coat, skin, and overall health, reporting any concerns to pet owners or management
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and work area to ensure hygiene and safety standards are met
- Handle dogs gently and confidently, ensuring a stress-free grooming experience for pets
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare instructions
- Assist with heavy lifting of large or heavy pets as needed, ensuring proper handling techniques to prevent injury
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently to maximize client satisfaction and operational flow
Experience
- Prior experience in dog grooming or related pet care fields is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with patience and care
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during grooming sessions
- Knowledge of grooming tools, breed standards, and safety procedures is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about animal care who are eager to develop their grooming skills in a supportive environment.
We are offering flexible schedules but the ideal candidate with be available to work 4-5 days/week. Commission structure or table rent options are available.
