Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and equipment operation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment utilizing various heavy equipment and warehouse management systems. Prior warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued to ensure efficient and safe operations within our distribution center.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, and move products safely within the warehouse.
- Assist with order picking, packing, and order fulfillment processes to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Utilize warehouse management systems like AS400 to track inventory levels and update records accurately.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed for loading or unloading materials, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
- Support manufacturing or construction-related activities when required, applying relevant skills such as mechanical knowledge or construction experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by adhering to safety standards and operational protocols.
- Assist with inventory control, stock replenishment, and cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
Requirements
- Proven warehouse experience with familiarity in warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping & receiving, and inventory management systems such as AS400.
- Experience operating heavy equipment including reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery; certification preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues or supporting manufacturing processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout shifts.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order fulfillment and inventory accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and ability to operate heavy equipment responsibly.
- Prior experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
