Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Print Production Assistant to join our fast-paced print shop. This hands-on role supports the day-to-day operations of our production department, ensuring that all print projects are completed with high quality, on time, and according to specifications. The ideal candidate is a self-starter comfortable with machinery, eager to learn, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Machine Operation: Operate and maintain print production equipment, including digital printers, large-format printers, laminators, plotters, and binding machinery.
- Finishing & Bindery: Trim, cut, weed vinyl, laminate, bind, collate, and kit printed materials for final delivery.
- Quality Control: Perform rigorous quality checks during and after production runs to ensure accuracy, color consistency, and conformance to job specifications.
- Prepress Support: Assist with file setup, preflighting documents, and prepping files for print.
- Inventory & Maintenance: Monitor inventory levels of paper, ink, and supplies; assist in organizing and restocking, and perform routine maintenance on machinery.
- Packaging & Shipping: Package, label, and prepare jobs for shipping or local delivery.
- Workflow Coordination: Follow job tickets and communicate with designers and customer service to resolve production issues.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- years of experience in a digital print, signage, or commercial production environment (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot independently.
- Basic computer skills (knowledge of Mac/PC, CorelDRAW is a strong asset).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand for long durations (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/production environment (noise, ink smell).
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
