Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society (MPFCS) is a community-based non-profit organization that provides child-centered programs that nurture healthy growth and development for children and families. Inaugurated in 1976 in response to a community need for the support of local mothers, MPFCS has continued to provide a child-friendly environment where families can connect, share, learn and grow.
Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded Marketing and Fund Development Consultant to increase the visibility of our programs and services and strengthen our fundraising efforts. This role will develop and implement marketing and communications strategies that raise public awareness, engage community members, attract new donors, and strengthen relationships with existing supporters. The ideal candidate understands digital marketing, enjoys building relationships, and is passionate about making a positive impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy aligned with the Society's mission and goals.
- Increase awareness of programs, services, events, and community initiatives.
- Conducts and analyzes community surveys to shape marketing and outreach strategies.
- Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, the website, and promotional materials.
- Maintain a consistent organizational brand and messaging across all communication channels.
- Coordinate photography, videos, and stories that showcase the impact of our programs.
- Monitor and evaluate marketing performance.
Community Engagement
- Promote community events and encourage participation.
- Build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, media outlets, and partners.
- Identify opportunities to increase community awareness and participation.
Fundraising and Donor Engagement
- Support fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship initiatives.
- Develop marketing materials that encourage donations and community support.
- Help grow the Society's donor base through digital campaigns, storytelling, and community outreach.
- Assist with sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
- Support donor recognition and communication activities.
Website and Digital Presence
- Keep the Society's website current and engaging.
- Improve online visibility through search engine optimization (SEO) and digital marketing best practices.
- Manage email marketing campaigns and maintain mailing lists.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in marketing, communications, or community engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience with Canva, Microsoft Office, and website content management systems.
- Experience with email marketing platforms is an asset.
- Knowledge of fundraising and donor engagement is an asset.
- Photography, graphic design, or video editing skills are considered an asset.

Position Details
This is a part-time consulting position requiring 15 to 20 hours per week. Compensation ranges from $30–$36 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will be offered an initial three-month contract, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and organizational needs.
