Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated Mold Makers for steady day shifts to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality molds used in production processes. This role is essential in ensuring precision, efficiency, and consistency in mold fabrication, directly supporting our commitment to manufacturing excellence. Duties
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models to develop detailed mold designs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
- Operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines such as CNC lathes and CNC milling machines to produce precise mold components.
- Program CNC equipment effectively, ensuring accurate machining according to specifications.
- Assemble mold components with hand tools, verifying fit and function through precise measurements using calipers and other measuring instruments.
- Perform welding and finishing tasks to complete mold assemblies, maintaining high standards of quality.
- Conduct troubleshooting on molds and machining processes to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of mold designs, modifications, and machining procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret schematics and ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling tools, machinery, and materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mold making or precision machining within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
- Skilled in CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe and milling machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of machining processes, assembly techniques, welding, and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and mathematical measurements.
- Familiarity with hand tools, calipers, and other measurement devices essential for precision work.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards and safety regulations applicable to machine shop environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality control.
- Basic understanding of math principles related to machining tolerances and dimensions.
