Salary: $53,633.18 - $60,705.12 per annum/hour **based on work experience
Hours: 40-hour work week (35 working hours plus 5 hours allocated to daily half hour paid lunches and unpaid breaks)

About the role:
As an integral member of the team, you will often be the first point of contact, whether in person, over the phone or via email, for many of the John Howard Society’s clients and community partners. This position works collaboratively within Community Employment Resource Centre (CERC) location, which is an Employment Ontario service provider. This role will greet all visitors and help clients navigate through registration and services throughout the office. In addition, the role will manage correspondence in the corporate email inbox, schedule appointments, maintain calendars, make photocopies, monitor office supplies, supervise placement students, and work closely with the team as tasks and projects arise.
As the successful candidate, you will have:

Excellent client facing approaches, including providing warm reception to all clients regardless of their barriers;

Understanding of, and experience working with, clients that struggle with multiple barriers (mental health, criminality, substance use);
-
An outgoing, innovative, enthusiastic, and passionate personality to assist others;

Strong organizational, time management, and administrative skills;
-
Ability to use sound judgement and common sense;

Strong verbal and written communication skills;
-
Knowledge of social, environmental, employment and cultural issues affecting vulnerable individuals in our community;

High level of computer proficiency (MS Office, Excel, Office 365 Team, SharePoint, etc.), Experience with CaMS and CaseFLO a strong asset;

Bilingualism in English and French.
You’ll also be prepared to:

Work on-site full time (Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 8am-4pm);

Answer all incoming calls, transfer calls and/or take messages;

Monitor and respond to general inquiries in the corporate email address;

Greet customers, vendors and community partners professionally;

Register clients for services for CERC and the Hire Power program, confirming eligibility and triaging to appropriate program;

Enter client information into CaseFLO to create profiles and schedule appointments;

Schedule appointment timeslots for social assistance referrals;

Monitor office supplies and maintain order in the copier/mailroom spaces;

Manage room bookings for the office, coordinating with internal and external staff;

Supervise placement students in the Resource & Information area;

Obtain and pass a Level 2 Police Records Check;

Overflow client casework and intakes as needed and other duties as assigned.
