We have an immediate opening for Registered Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Technician, or recent grad from the Vet Tech program. The successful candidate should be self-sufficient, upbeat, and have strong communication skills. Experience is an asset but we are willing to train the right individual for our team. Willingness to learn and handle contructive criticism is a must, as well as the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment as a team or independently.
We are a small but fast growing single Veterinarian Hospital, focused on excellent patient care and customer service. We have been around since 2013 and are located in the Riverside area, close to local shopping, dining and other amenities. Applicants will be expected to work Monday through Friday, with weekends and holidays off.
Wage is negotiable, based on experience
Duties
As a Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities might include:
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
- Performing laboratory tests such as blood work, fecal and urinalysis
- Collecting and processing samples for diagnostic purposes
- Monitoring animal patients before, during, and after procedures
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
- Some receptionist duties - cash out, invoice, end of day closing
- Input patient/client info into computer
- Educating pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
- Ensuring a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff
Experience
Our ideal candidate should possess:
- Degree/Certification for Veterinary Technician (RVT preferred but not a deal breaker)
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and other team members
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital would be benefical
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is highly desirable
