Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the company's accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial reporting and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing payroll, financial reporting, tax compliance, vendor payments, account reconciliations, and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Process and administer employee payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal payroll legislation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and financial statements.
- Prepare, review, and file corporate tax returns, HST/GST returns, payroll remittances, and other statutory filings.
- Liaise with federal, provincial, and municipal government agencies regarding tax filings, payroll matters, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage accounts payable, including reviewing and processing vendor invoices and ensuring timely vendor payments.
- Perform regular bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, accounting policies, and applicable legislation.
- Coordinate year-end activities and work closely with external accountants and auditors.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices.
- Support senior management with financial analysis and special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA) is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and Ontario payroll regulations.
- Proficiency with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Reports To
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
