DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead corrective actions using 8-D format, fault trees, cause & effect diagrams, 5 Whys, and other tools; and communicate data internally and externally.
- Statistical techniques, i.e., failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), reliability failure analysis, design of experiments, statistical decision making, statistical process control (SPC), and Six Sigma implementation.
- Participates and understands Zero-Defect methodologies, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and other principles for various customer programs.
- Supports the AS9100/ISO9001/IAFT16949 quality management system requirements with implementation, training and maintenance of the Quality department operating procedures, conducting internal audits and preparing data for quality management review.
- Support additional customer requirements including preparation and interface for surveys, readiness reviews, review and approve AS9102 first article inspections, PPAP and annual validations.
- Knowledge of and implementation of MSA.
- Performs manufacturing process audits using control plans and PFMEA as input into the audit.
- Analyzes audit results and determines proper corrective and preventive action.
- Participate in and/or coordinate material review board (MRB) activities to issue, track and close corrective actions, respond to customer requests for corrective action and generate failure and investigation reports.
- Conduct continuous improvement projects and initiatives as necessary – experience in Kaizens (CI), Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions.
- Support and aid Process Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering in development and revisions for productivity, detailed work instructions, process approvals, and offset cause of deviations from quality standards.
- Perform failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), process failure modes and effects analysis (PFMEA) and reverse PFMEAs.
- Knowledge of ASTM /ASME International Specifications: This source provides standard requirements for steel tubes, which may include specifications for welded stainless-steel tubing.
- Assesses quality performance & risk (or cost-of-quality) using statistical and analytical methods.
BACKGROUND:
- Certification: ASQ Quality Engineer certification and/or Lean six sigma green belt or higher.
- 5+ years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or in a related position.
- Qualified internal auditor.
- Knowledge of stainless steel / nickel-based alloys with focus on processing including roll forming, welding, heat treating, and both destructive and non-destructive testing methods.
- Experience with supporting and maintaining AS9100/ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of various material and commercial specifications such as ASTM, ASME, AMS/SAE and special process specifications.
- Knowledge of MSA.
- Knowledge of statistical methods, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is required.
- Must be able to read, interpret and apply GD&T to engineering drawings.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals & manufacturing work instructions in the designated language, English.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and stakeholders and to effectively present information to top management.
- Must be a team player to drive team problem solving solutions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- 50% manufacturing environment
- 50% office work.

The expected compensation range for this position is $85,600-$117,700. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for the role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth.
