Landsperg Automotive Group is one of Western Canada’s fastest-growing dealership groups, proudly operating 16 stores across Alberta and British Columbia. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Controller to join our Nanaimo Mitsubishi team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will support the company's financial operations by assisting with accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced accounting software and tools to ensure accuracy and compliance. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting strategic decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist Controller in dealership accounting procedures
- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger at all times
- Complete weekly audits (schedule & floorplan)
- Perform monthly reconciliations (Visa, GST, PST, remittances, schedules etc.)
- Ensure daily deposits are completed and reconciled
- Review and post new, used, and wholesale car deals
- Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable functions
- Maintain accurate records, schedules, and reporting
- Review and process new employee paperwork
- Assist with month end close
- Manage inventory audit counts
What We’re Looking For
- Strong understanding of accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred)
- Knowledge of accounting systems (PBS experience is an asset)
- Previous automotive accounting experience required
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead, multitask, and work under pressure
- Reliable, trustworthy, and detail-focused

Pay: $60,000.00-$72,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Nanaimo, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Automotive accounting: 1 year (preferred)
