We are a growing trailer repair company specializing in both light-duty and heavy-duty trailer repairs, offering mobile roadside service, yard repairs, and full shop repairs throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Licensed Trailer Technician (310J or Red Seal) who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a company where quality comes first.
Position Summary
As a Trailer Technician, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of trailers, ensuring every unit leaves our shop safe, reliable, and roadworthy.
You will work on enclosed cargo trailers, utility trailers, dump trailers, equipment trailers, flatbeds, goosenecks, RV trailers, and semi-trailers. This role includes both shop and occasional mobile service work.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete trailer inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair suspension, brake, electrical, ABS, air, and structural systems.
- Replace axles, hubs, bearings, brakes, springs, equalizers, bushings, hangers, landing gear, and suspension components.
- Diagnose and repair lighting and electrical wiring issues.
- Perform wheel bearing service, brake adjustments, and wheel-end repairs.
- Complete welding, fabrication, aluminum repairs, and structural repairs as required.
- Repair trailer floors, roofs, ramps, doors, hinges, and body damage.
- Perform axle spindle and axle repairs where applicable.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Complete work orders accurately, including labour hours and parts used.
- Follow all company safety procedures and Alberta regulations.
- Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
Qualifications
- Licensed Journeyman/Red Seal/310J Trailer Technician (or apprentice nearing completion).
- Strong knowledge of trailer braking, suspension, electrical, structural, and mechanical systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience considered a strong asset.
- Experience with aluminum trailer repairs is an asset.
- Ability to diagnose problems independently.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Able to lift up to 85 lbs.
- Positive attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills.
