WHO YOU ARE - You are an energetic, highly motivated individual who recognizes this as an opportunity to work in the hockey industry. You grew up playing hockey and are experienced with, and interested in hockey equipment. You take pride in your work and the potential to make a real difference with a small business. You are a friendly, outgoing person who likes to work with people, while also maintaining a high attention to detail and organizational skills. Previous experience in retail, and specifically sporting goods retail, is highly desired. Experience in a hockey pro shop will be considered a valuable asset, and experience playing is mandatory.
THE ROLE – You will be one of the faces of the HockeyStickMan Flagship location in Vaughan, Ontario. Reporting to the Retail Lead, you will be responsible for supporting various aspects of the business. The primary focus will often revolve around our experiential store front and the associated customer experience. In addition to assisting customers on site and ensuring the retail space is looking its best (ie stocking/facing), you will assist with routine customer service (ie phone calls/emails). Your passion and experience in hockey will make you a valuable member of our in-store team, providing productive and fun feedback in the shooting area, and driving wholesale and team sales leads and sales. You will spend much of your day on your feet. As a small family run business we rely on everyone stepping up in different areas as required. As a part time associate you will help support our busiest store hours, traditionally closing shifts and weekends with potential for the odd day shift mixed in. Our hiring process includes a 3-month probationary contract, after which we will review the fit for both parties and ideally move forward with a long term commitment.

WHAT YOU BRING
- Passion for the game of hockey and interest in hockey products and sticks, strong playing background
- Experience in a sporting goods retail is a major asset
- Familiarity with Shopify or other POS software is a plus
- An open mind and a positive attitude; a willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks (including hands on work)
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work during our busiest hours (weekday evenings, weekends, especially during hockey season)
