Position Overview
Varis Mine Technology Ltd is currently searching for a Cost Accountant to focus on analyzing production costs and operational expenses. The candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and provide insights that drive cost-saving initiatives. Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost management and operational efficiency.
- Track and analyze operating costs to ensure alignment with budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Work with Procurement and warehouse team to monitor inventory levels and expenditures.
- Work with Sales and Management to develop sales prices and maintain them in the ERP system.
- Assist in budget preparation, pricing analysis and margin improvement initiatives
- Provide support and backup to the other members of the Admin Team
- Prepare material claims and supporting documentation as required.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory; investigate and resolve count and transaction variances.
- Contribute to ERP optimization and reporting automation (Business Central, Excel, Power BI).
- Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience Requirements
Qualifications
- University Degree in accounting required.
- CPA Designation or enrollment in CPA Program.
- 3 to 5 Years experience as a cost accountant, cost analyst in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
- Effective communication skill with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Teams, and Outlook.
Job Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data modelling, macros)
- Strong numeric, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost control and operational efficiency.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
- Proactive approach to identifying cost trends and developing solutions to improve profitability.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
