About the Role
Are you an EPIC Super User?
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with extensive hands-on Epic EMR experience to support clinicians following a recent Epic implementation. This role requires an advanced Epic user who can confidently troubleshoot issues, guide end users through clinical workflows, and provide real-time support to physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinical staff. This is a non-patient-facing position focused on improving user confidence, efficiency and adoption of the Epic platform.
Working closely with end users, you will provide virtual support through screen sharing, workflow coaching and problem-solving to help clinicians navigate Epic effectively.
This position is initially a three month contract focused on post-implementation Epic support. Depending on operational needs, there may be opportunities for the successful candidate to transition into other clinical support or nursing opportunities beyond the initial contract.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day virtual support to physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinical staff using Epic.
Troubleshoot user questions related to clinical workflows, documentation and navigation within Epic.
Deliver one-on-one support through screen sharing, virtual coaching and workflow guidance.
Assist clinicians in optimizing their use of Epic to improve efficiency and confidence.
Support users during the post-implementation stabilization period by addressing workflow challenges and promoting best practices.
Identify recurring user issues and recommend workflow improvements.
Escalate technical or system-related issues to the appropriate Epic or IT support teams.
Assist with onboarding and orientation of new Epic users, as required.
Develop or update quick reference guides, tip sheets and other educational resources.
Qualifications
Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Canada.
Extensive hands-on experience using Epic EMR in a clinical environment is required.
Demonstrated expertise navigating and supporting clinical workflows within Epic is required.
Experience supporting physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinicians using Epic is required.
Experience supporting an Epic implementation, go-live, stabilization or optimization initiative is strongly preferred.
Previous experience as an Epic Super User, Clinical Informatics Nurse, Clinical Educator or similar role is considered a significant asset.
Strong understanding of physician and nursing clinical workflows.
Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable providing virtual support through screen sharing and online collaboration platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for helping clinicians successfully adopt new technology.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone colleagues naturally turn to for Epic guidance. You have a strong clinical background, understand how healthcare providers use Epic in practice, and enjoy teaching, coaching and troubleshooting. You thrive in fast-paced implementation environments and are passionate about improving the clinician experience through effective EMR support.
