Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our growing refrigerated trucking company. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing freight shipments across North America, with a focus on Canada-USA cross-border operations. This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent communication skills, knowledge of transportation logistics, and the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries across Canada and the United States
● Assign loads to appropriate drivers and monitor shipment progress in real-time
● Manage cross-border documentation and ensure compliance with USMCA, PARS, and customs regulations
● Communicate with customers regarding pickup/delivery status, delays, and special requirements
● Monitor temperature logs and cargo integrity for refrigerated shipments
● Respond to driver inquiries and resolve road issues promptly
● Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including BOLs, manifests, and settlement statements
● Optimize routes to maximize efficiency and reduce fuel costs
● Handle customer complaints and work toward satisfactory resolutions
Required Qualifications
● Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a dispatcher in transportation, logistics, or trucking
● Solid understanding of cross-border freight operations and customs clearance procedures
● Proficiency with TMS (Transportation Management System) or similar dispatch software
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment and manage competing priorities
● Excellent organizational and time management skills
● Valid driver's license and clean driving record (preferred)
● Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with refrigerated/perishable goods logistics
● Knowledge of HOS (Hours of Service) regulations
● Experience managing a fleet of 10+ vehicles
● Familiarity with Canadian and US transportation regulations

Pay: $17.60-$31.69 per hour
