- Power Engineering Certification
- Journeyman ticket in related trade (i.e., heating/plumbing, electrical) an asset
- Minimum 5 years related Building Maintenance and Building Renovation experience and/or formal education in building maintenance
- Experience and ability to perform minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing and heating repairs.
- Valid driver’s license & drivers abstract required

- Operate and maintain equipment including lawn tractor, snow & leaf blowers
- Promote Health & Safety by adhering to safe work practices

- A sincere desire and ability to work with the elderly, community housing clients as well as staff members
- Complete daily and weekly preventive maintenance for the Foundation buildings as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Log Books
- Monitor and perform preventive maintenance duties on boilers and air handling systems such as taking and recording pressure, temperature and liquid level, and replacing zone valves and thermostats; reports unusual or abnormal system readings or problems to the Manager.
- Perform building construction and renovation duties such as constructing simple wooden articles, repair furniture, doors and windows; repairs walls and surfaces; performs related painting and finishing duties.
- Perform minor repairs on plumbing and fixtures such as replacing or adjusting valves, taps and flushing mechanisms, unclogging drains and traps.
- Complete ground maintenance throughout the year including snow removal, grass cutting, flower bed preparation and maintenance.
- Complete all maintenance and repairs in a prompt, efficient and economical manner.
- Be available on an on-call basis after hours on a rotating basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
