Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic, results-driven Driver Recruiter with 2+ years of experience to join our Bolton team. In this role, you will own the full-cycle recruitment of commercial drivers (AZ/Class 1), playing a critical role in expanding and maintaining our driver fleet. You will serve as the primary brand ambassador for prospective drivers, guiding them from initial outreach and regulatory screening to onboarding hand-off.
Duties
- Proactively attract, source, and engage qualified AZ commercial drivers through job boards, social media, industry networking, referral programs, and direct outreach.
- Conduct thorough phone screens and structured interviews to evaluate driver experience, safety mindset, communication skills, and fit for specific terminal routes.
- Request and review qualification documents, including Commercial Driver Abstracts (MVR), CVORs, criminal background checks, employment history, and drug/alcohol test results per MTO and carrier standards.
- Build and maintain an active talent pipeline to quickly fill open lanes and accommodate high-volume operational changes.
- Partner with HR and Terminal Operations to facilitate smooth orientation schedules and ensure complete driver files prior to start dates.
- Maintain real-time candidate tracking using internal HR systems to report on recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, retention, driver source performance).
Requirements
- 2+ years of dedicated experience in high-volume commercial driver recruiting or transportation talent acquisition.
- Working knowledge of Ministry of Transportation (MTO) driver qualification rules, CVOR reviews, abstract evaluation, and commercial safety standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a persuasive, approachable phone manner to quickly connect with prospective drivers.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruitment platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn, social channels), and standard office tools (MS Excel/Word/Outlook).
- Driven, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced logistics terminal environment.
