On behalf of our public sector client, Procom is searching for a Senior Project Control Officer for a contract role. This position is onsite in Toronto or Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Senior Project Control Officer - Job Description:
The Senior Project Control Officer will support Managers and Project Managers by coordinating key project control activities, including maintaining project budgeting, progress reporting, action items, and risk updates. The role includes developing status reports, coordinating document deliverables, scheduling and facilitating meetings, and monitoring a project document repository. This assignment supports critical projects in a mainframe/legacy environment within a large, complex enterprise setting.
Senior Project Control Officer - Responsibilities:
- Coordinate project activities and collaborate with various groups to gather updates while maintaining budgeting, progress reporting, action items, and risk management updates.
- Work alongside Managers and Project Managers to provide updates, escalate issues as required, identify risks, and lead/coordinate project document deliverables.
- Develop project status reports and maintain/monitor status reporting logs.
- Schedule meetings and facilitate sessions as required to support project delivery.
- Monitor the project document repository and ensure documents are reviewed and maintained appropriately.
- Use project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Planview) to support planning, tracking, and coordination.
- Apply project management concepts (goals, risk, scope, roles, planning, cost and quality management) to support delivery.
Senior Project Control Officer - Mandatory Skills:
- 7–10 years of experience coordinating projects.
- Experience collaborating with various groups to gather updates and maintain project budgeting, progress reporting, action items, and risk management updates.
- Experience supporting multiple Project Managers and critical projects in a professional environment, including mainframe/legacy systems.
- Experience developing project status reports and maintaining and monitoring status reporting logs.
- Experience scheduling and facilitating meetings.
- Experience monitoring a project document repository and ensuring documents are reviewed and maintained in the repository.
- Demonstrated project management software skills and experience (e.g., MS Project, Planview).
- Understanding of project management concepts (project goals, risk, scope, participant roles, planning, cost and quality management).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Senior Project Control Officer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Public sector experience on a mainframe/legacy system.
