Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Groomer to join our team( at Natural Pet Foods in Carleton Place) and provide exceptional grooming services for pets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, strong customer service skills, and the ability to handle various grooming tasks efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment dedicated to pet wellness and customer satisfaction. The groomer is a contractor earning 60% of every groom. The shop provides the towels, use of laundry, shampoo and conditioner. The groomer is responsible for their own tools and other miscellaneous items. The groomer books their own times/appointments. Staff may help booking as required by the groomer. Groomers are paid bi-weekly. Natural Pet Foods is located on the main downtown street of beautiful Carleton Place.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling according to client specifications
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets throughout the grooming process
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work area
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client questions and preferences
- Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up with clients as needed
- Assist with handling heavy or large animals safely and effectively
- Educate pet owners on grooming routines and recommended care practices
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Groomer with a strong portfolio of completed work
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary, including larger or heavier animals
- Knowledge of grooming techniques, tools, and safety procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a genuine love for animals
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality pet care services
Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
