The Continuous Improvement (CI) Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and operational performance across Calian GNSS. The role leads Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives by identifying process improvement opportunities, eliminating waste, standardizing work, and improving workflow across manufacturing, testing, and administrative processes. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and supporting departments, the CI Coordinator facilitates continuous improvement projects, promotes a culture of operational excellence, and applies Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to deliver measurable business results.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and administrative functions using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Facilitates Lean projects focused on improving productivity, reducing waste, shortening lead times, increasing throughput, and improving operational efficiency.
- Identifies process bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement through observation, data analysis, value stream mapping, and employee engagement.
- Applies Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies and structured problem-solving tools to eliminate inefficiencies and improve process performance.
- Leads Kaizen events, process improvement workshops, and cross-functional improvement activities.
- Develops standardized work instructions, visual management systems, process documentation, and best practices.
- Performs operational data analysis and develops dashboards, KPIs, and reports to monitor improvement initiatives and business performance.
- Supports production teams by facilitating shop floor problem solving and implementing sustainable process improvements.
- Coordinates productivity improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, workplace organization (5S), and visual workplace activities.
- Supports automation, digitalization, and process simplification initiatives where appropriate.
- Develops and delivers Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement training programs.
- Prepares professional reports, presentations, and executive summaries for senior leadership to communicate project status, results, and recommendations.
- Facilitates cross-functional meetings and promotes employee engagement in continuous improvement activities.
- Encourages a culture of continuous improvement by coaching employees in Lean thinking and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Other duties as required within the context of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and operational excellence methodologies: Kaizen
- Standard Work, Visual Management, Root Cause Analysis, PDCA, DMAIC, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, 5 Why Analysis.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and productivity metrics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging training sessions and communicate effectively with employees at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively both on the production floor and in an office environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint); Power BI experience is considered an asset.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or high-mix, low-volume production environments.
Compensation
$65,000 – $75,000
