Yard Service Technician
Location: Calgary, AB
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Year-Round)
We are currently seeking a Yard Service Technician to join our Calgary team. This is a hands-on role that involves working outdoors in all weather conditions while supporting daily yard and fleet operations. This position operates primarily from a service truck, as there is no on-site shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on 53’ trailers, including tires, axles, and fifth wheels
- Conduct daily inspections of trucks and trailers
- Assist with trailer inspections and identify mechanical issues
- Manage, stock, and maintain the service truck
- Support yard operations to ensure equipment readiness
- Work closely with Dispatch, Maintenance/Repair teams, and Drivers to coordinate repairs and fleet needs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Requirements:
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Proficient in using mobile devices
- Mechanical aptitude: experience with trailers or heavy equipment is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Training:
Training will be provided as needed:
- 1 week in Winnipeg
- 2 weeks on-site in Calgary
