Job Overview
G&J Construction Group LP is hiring experienced Rock Truck Operators to support our heavy civil and earthworks projects. This is a site-based equipment operator role, focused on moving bulk earth materials safely and efficiently within active construction zones.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate an articulated rock truck to transport clay, soil, aggregate, or other bulk materials around site haul roads
- Dump loads at designated locations as directed by site supervisor or spotters
- Perform daily equipment walkarounds, including pre- and post-shift inspections, fluid level checks, and reporting defects or concerns
- Work closely with excavator, dozer, and grader operators to ensure smooth haul cycles and site flow
- Follow all safety procedures, speed limits, and right-of-way rules on site
- Maintain a clean cab and report any unusual equipment performance
- Adapt to ground conditions and changing weather (mud, ice, inclines, etc.)
- Attend daily toolbox meetings and follow direction from the supervisors
- Be dependable and work collaboratively with the earthworks crew
Requirements:
· Minimum 1 year experience operating rock trucks in a construction or mining environment
- Knowledge of safe hauling techniques and spotting protocols
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from site
- CSTS-2020, First Aid, Ground Disturbance II (asset)
- Ability to work 10–12 hour shifts in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, attention to safety, and willingness to be part of a high-performing crew
- Ability to operate additional equipment such as packers, skid steers, or loaders will be considered a strong asset.
Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour
