The goal of the Field Technician is to learn the practical techniques required for the preparation of NDT Global's tools as well as the safe execution of the pipeline of on-site activities required to load, launch, receive and retrieve the tools.
Job Description
- Inspection tool preparation: mechanical assembly according to technical drawings and testing following set procedures
- Supports the field crew in the execution of the inspection at our customer's sites: safe handling of the inspection tool during set-up, loading, launching and retrieving
- Performs the required field documentation in connection with inspection projects
- Disassembly and maintenance of inspection tools including preparation of parts for warehousing
- Active participation in daily toolbox talks and risk assessments in line with HSEQ standards
- Raises any potential problems, issues or concerns with supervisor in a timely manner
- Delivers exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers
- Travel up to 50%
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Education:
- A two-year degree, diploma or vocational training in a technical field
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- basic knowledge in electronics
- strong safety mindset
- Full driver's license is required
- Demonstrates an aptitude for learning new technologies and concepts
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of corresponding work experience, ideally in the oil and gas sector
- A background in In-line Inspection (ILI) is preferred
- General experience working in a shop environment
- Familiarity with a wide range of mechanical and/or electrical tools and test equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and bill of materials
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English
