Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our organization. This role is essential in securing funding to support our programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong research skills, experience with databases and fundraising software such as Raiser's Edge, and excellent communication abilities. Duties
- Research potential funding sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate donors
- Write compelling grant proposals tailored to specific funder guidelines and organizational needs
- Maintain and update grant tracking databases to monitor application statuses and deadlines
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Prepare detailed reports on grant progress, outcomes, and compliance requirements for funders
- Assist in developing fundraising strategies that incorporate grant opportunities and donor engagement
- Support marketing efforts by creating materials that highlight organizational impact and funding needs
- Foster relationships with existing funders and identify new prospects through research and networking
Experience
- Proven experience in grant writing, with a strong portfolio of successful proposals
- Familiarity with databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems used for donor management
- Knowledge of research methods for identifying funding opportunities across various sectors
- Experience with marketing principles as they relate to nonprofit fundraising and outreach
- Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with funders, partners, and internal teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Background in nonprofit management or related fields is preferred but not required
