Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Grain Farm Hand to support daily operations on our farm. This role involves assisting with planting, harvesting, maintenance, and general farm tasks to ensure the smooth running of our grain production. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn about farm machinery and crop management. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agricultural practices within a dynamic farming environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting grain crops using various farm machinery and tools
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and machinery
- Operate heavy equipment such as tractors and harvesters safely and efficiently
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution for crops
- Use hand tools and power tools for repairs, adjustments, and general farm tasks
- Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and record-keeping
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting grain or supplies around the farm
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency
- Support other farm activities as needed, including fencing, pest control, and crop monitoring
Experience
- Prior experience with farm machinery operation or agricultural work is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with maintenance of equipment is advantageous
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, horticulture practices, or crop management is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly and operate heavy equipment safely
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping are necessary
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual labor involving heavy lifting and the use of power tools
Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
