JOB OPPORTUNITY
TEACHER
We are seeking full-time and part-time Teachers to support adult students navigating the challenges of community-based studies.
Qualifications:
- BC teaching certification, or certification in progress, or ability to obtain an LoP.
- Bachelor's Degree (state preferred curriculum subject areas).
- Experience working in classroom-based, online, and distance learning environments.
- Experience working in education in Indigenous rural communities in B.C.
- Knowledge of Gitxsan culture and Gitksenimx language preferred.
- Ability to teach a variety of courses (please specify area of expertise) at Grade 8-12.
- Understanding of B.C. Adult Graduation Diploma (Adult Dogwood) requirements.
- Understanding of Individual Learning Plans and SMART goal setting.
- Excellent verbal, written, and digital skills – Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
- Experience of Microsoft TEAMS as a teaching and learning platform preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to make sound decisions and to work under time constraints.
- Reliable personal transportation. Class 5 driver's license; Class 4 preferred. Combination of education and work experience considered.
Preference given to qualified Indigenous applicants.
Terms:
This position requires a formal criminal record check, results of which may preclude an offer of employment.
Start date: 31-August, 2026 End date: 30-June, 2027* Schedule: Monday – Friday** (25-35 hours/week)
Salary: $30 - $32 based on experience
- NOTE: Opportunity for extended contract dependent upon student registrations.
**NOTE: Schedule may be adjusted to meet program needs.
