Insight Advantage Inc. is seeking a dedicated and motivated Employment Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will work directly with individuals experiencing barriers to employment, including persons living with disabilities, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and strategies needed to achieve meaningful employment and career goals.
This position is ideal for a professional who is passionate about vocational rehabilitation, employment services, career development, and supporting clients through positive life transitions.
What You'll Do
As an Employment Specialist, you will:
- Meet with clients to explore employment history, education, transferable skills, and career goals
- Identify barriers to employment and develop individualized employment action plans
- Provide one-on-one employment counselling and job search support
- Actively job search on behalf of clients and identify suitable employment opportunities aligned with their abilities, experience, and vocational goals
- Conduct job development activities, including outreach to employers, networking, and identifying potential employment opportunities within the local labour market
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers and industry partners to create employment opportunities for clients
- Promote client candidates to employers and facilitate introductions, interviews, and hiring discussions
- Engage with employers to identify workforce needs and match qualified clients to available positions
- Provide ongoing support to both clients and employers during the hiring and onboarding process to encourage successful employment outcomes
- Research labour market trends and identify employment opportunities that align with client goals
- Assist clients with resume development, cover letters, interview preparation, and job retention strategies

- Monitor client progress and adjust service plans as needed
- Prepare professional reports, assessments, progress updates, and case documentation
- Coordinate referrals to community resources and support services
- Build relationships with employers, community agencies, and rehabilitation partners
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful vocational outcomes
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Social Services, Career Development, Rehabilitation, Human Services, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, career counselling, disability management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of job search strategies, labour market information, and employment supports
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and case management abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Additional Requirements
- Valid Ontario driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle for travel within the region
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to meet Enhanced Reliability screening requirements
