As Procurement Specialist, Technology you:
Will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring technology solutions and materials related to audiovisual (AV), security, and low-voltage systems for construction and integration projects. This role ensures that all equipment, services, and partnerships align with project requirements, technical specifications, company standards, and budget objectives.
The ideal candidate has strong technical understanding of AV and security ecosystems, excellent supplier management skills, and the ability to collaborate with project teams in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

Lead end-to-end procurement of AV and security technologies, including:

Cameras, access control systems, servers, storage

AV displays, switchers, DSPs, control systems
-
Networking hardware, cabling, and related infrastructure

Engage in competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, and commercial analysis to ensure best-value procurement.

Develop RFQs, RFPs, tender packages, and contract documents.

Analyze technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications to validate material compliance.
Supplier & Vendor Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and service partners in the AV and security industry.

Monitor vendor performance, negotiate pricing, and drive cost-reduction initiatives.

Stay current on technology trends, product updates, and lifecycle considerations.
Project & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with project managers, estimators, engineering teams, and site teams to ensure timely and accurate material procurement.

Support project kickoff activities by forecasting material requirements and long-lead items.

Coordinate delivery logistics with warehouse and site operations.
Financial & Commercial Management

Track and manage procurement budgets, PO issuance, and cost reporting for assigned projects.

Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative product options without compromising performance.

Mitigate supply chain risks and support schedule-driven procurement strategies.
Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all procurement activities align with corporate policies and industry standards.

Maintain accurate records, procurement files, and documentation for audits and project closeouts.

Support contract negotiations and review commercial terms to protect company interests.
Qualifications
Education & Experience

College diploma or university degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Technology, or a related field.

3–5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in technology, construction, AV, or security systems.

Experience purchasing from AV/security manufacturers (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Axis, Lenel, Genetec, Cisco, Samsung) is considered an asset.

Strong understanding of AV, security, and low-voltage technologies.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management abilities.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, scopes of work, and BOMs.

Proficient with ERP systems, procurement tools, and Microsoft 365.

Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in fast-paced project-driven environments.
