Position Summary
Spartan Glazing is seeking an experienced and motivated Glazier Supervisor to lead field operations and ensure our projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and takes pride in mentoring crews while maintaining exceptional client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate glazing crews on one or more job sites.
- Plan daily work activities and ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Install, repair, and oversee installation of commercial and residential glazing systems such as Window Wall, Unitized Curtain Wall and Stick Curtain Wall.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Conduct site inspections and maintain Spartan's quality control standards.
- Enforce all WorkSafeBC regulations, company safety policies, and safe work procedures.
- Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Mentor, train, and develop apprentices and junior glaziers.
- Ensure crews have the proper materials, tools, and equipment before work begins.
- Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Complete daily reports, site documentation, and progress updates.
- Resolve site challenges proactively while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications and applicable building codes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial glazing experience.
- Minimum 3+ years supervisory or foreman experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Curtain wall systems
- Window wall systems
- Storefront systems
- Aluminum glazing systems
- Glass replacement and remediation
- Sealants and waterproofing
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Fall Protection certification (preferred).
- Elevated Work Platform certification (preferred).
- First Aid certification is an asset.
