Bookkeeper
Location: Winnipeg MB, Canada – In Office

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, organizing tax-related documents, and helping ensure the business remains up to date with its financial obligations.
Responsibilities
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate sales and purchase records, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and organized. This position will include entering invoices, receipts, payments, and other business transactions into the appropriate accounting system.
Additional responsibilities include processing bill payments, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end reporting, and keeping financial records current and accurate. The successful candidate will also assist with preparing and processing tax documents and government remittances, which may include GST/HST, PST where applicable, payroll remittances, and other required filings.
The role will require strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Training
Training will be provided for current processes and help adjusting will be accessible from both staff and the company’s accountant.
Duties Include
- Maintain accurate sales and purchase records
- Record invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses
- Process bill payments in a timely manner
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements
- Prepare and organize tax documents
- Process government remittances, including GST/HST, PST, and payroll remittances where applicable
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Maintain organized digital and/or paper financial records
- Communicate with management regarding outstanding bills, payments, or financial discrepancies
- Work with the company’s accountant as needed

Qualifications
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience required.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar programs is an asset. Our business uses Sage, experience with this program would be beneficial, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Canadian tax remittances and bookkeeping practices is preferred
- Strong communication skills
Schedule
The work schedule will be flexible and set in a way that works for both the employer and employee. Hours to be full-time depending on experience, availability, and business needs.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
