About Penta
At Penta Equipment, we build equipment that works as hard as the people who use it. For more than 25 years, we've manufactured TMR mixers, spreaders, dump boxes, and truckmounts designed for the realities of agriculture and heavy-duty work.
With operations in Glencoe and Thamesville, we're a growing Ontario manufacturer focused on building great equipment, improving our operations, and developing the people who make it all happen. We value practical thinking, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement—and we're looking for someone who shares that mindset.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who sees HR as a way to improve business performance—not simply administer programs.
This is a hands-on leadership role supporting every aspect of the employee experience across our two manufacturing facilities. You'll lead payroll, recruitment, employee relations, health & safety administration, compliance, HR systems, and process improvement while partnering closely with leaders to solve operational challenges and strengthen the organization.
Success in this role comes from understanding the business first. You'll spend time on the production floor, build strong relationships with leaders and employees, identify opportunities before they become problems, and implement practical solutions that improve both the employee experience and operational effectiveness.
This isn't a highly structured corporate HR environment. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, making sound decisions, adapting to changing priorities, and taking ownership from start to finish. If you enjoy building structure, improving processes, and making a meaningful impact in a growing manufacturing business, you'll thrive here.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead payroll, benefits administration, attendance management, and HR recordkeeping with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding across multiple departments
- Partner with leaders on employee relations, investigations, performance management, coaching, and workplace issues
- Support health & safety administration, including WSIB coordination, training records, and JHSC activities
- Ensure HR practices remain compliant with employment legislation and company policies
- Maintain and improve HR systems, reporting, documentation, and administrative processes
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, communication, and accountability across HR and business processes
- Build trusted relationships across the organization by providing practical, balanced, and business-focused HR support
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Thinks like a business partner first and an HR professional second
- Naturally takes ownership and follows through without requiring close supervision
- Enjoys solving operational problems and improving the way work gets done
- Is comfortable balancing people, productivity, compliance, and business priorities
- Builds credibility through sound judgment, responsiveness, and practical decision-making
- Communicates confidently with employees, supervisors, and senior leadership
- Thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities change and no two days are the same
- Has practical experience across payroll, recruitment, employee relations, health & safety administration, HR systems, and employment legislation
Why Join Penta?
- Join a stable, growing Ontario manufacturer with more than 25 years of success
- Take ownership of the full HR function while working closely with an engaged leadership team
- Build systems, improve processes, and help shape how our business continues to grow
- Work in an environment where initiative, accountability, and practical problem-solving are genuinely valued
- Make a visible impact on both the business and the people who drive its success
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience and capability
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving how things work, and being a trusted partner to the business. Success comes less from following established HR playbooks and more from curiosity, sound judgment, initiative, and a genuine commitment to making the organization stronger.
