We are a well-established specialty fireplace retailer in Victoria looking for a dependable, Gas Fitter Helper to join our installation team.
Working alongside one of our licensed gas fitters, you'll assist with installing fireplaces in customers' homes throughout Greater Victoria. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and an interest in the skilled trades.
Schedule
- Part-time, approximately20–35 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Hours vary with the season
- Workday typically begins at 8:30 AM at our shop
- Travel to job sites in a company vehicle with your lead gas fitter
Responsibilities
- Assist with gas fireplace installations in residential homes
- Load, unload, and move fireplaces, tools, and materials
- Follow instructions from the lead gas fitter and assist with all aspects of installations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Provide courteous and professional service while working in customers' homes
Qualifications
- Able to safely lift up to 100 lbs
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working at heights (training provided)
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team
- Professional, respectful, and customer-focused
- Previous construction, installation, or trades experience is an asset but not required
