About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Shipping Supervisor to lead shipping operations within a fast-paced distribution and manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager, the successful candidate will provide hands-on leadership to the shipping team, ensuring products are shipped safely, accurately, and on schedule while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and safety.

Food and Manufacturing Supervisory Experience
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Team Leads and Shipping Associates.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, training, and development support.
- Lead by example and promote a positive workplace culture.
Operations & Coordination
- Coordinate manpower, schedules, and workflows to ensure smooth shipping operations.
- Monitor shipping activities to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with Production, Inventory, Receiving, and Transportation teams.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Support inventory management and equipment utilization initiatives.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment through regular inspections and proactive hazard identification.
- Support Health & Safety programs and promote safe work practices.
- Ensure operational procedures are followed consistently.
Continuous Improvement
- Assist with testing and implementation of new equipment, processes, and operational improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and service levels.
- Participate in process improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of supervisory or frontline leadership experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced operation.
- Experience managing employees in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is an asset.
