Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires strong people leadership skills, food manufacturing best practices, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Directly manage hourly production staff by instructing, coordinating, communicating and verifying daily activities within assigned areas
- Responsible for area safety, yields, efficiency, output and product quality
- Supervise, instruct, motivate, evaluate, praise and (if necessary) discipline staff
- Closely monitor production processes ensuring product specifications are met.
- Ensure the routine operation of the department/area by evaluating efficiencies, staffing, placement, training and rotation of employees
- Ensure care and proper operation of all equipment in areas of responsibility
- Execute daily/weekly work schedules for area staff
- Track/analyze operations KPIs (labour standards, yields)
- Perform other related duties as required by the Production Leadership
Requirements:
- Candidates must possess education equivalent to a high school diploma.
- Minimum of 3 years of prior supervisory experience in a production- manufacturing environment (within food service/baking industry an asset).
- Demonstrated ability to work with and understand production scheduling systems.
- Demonstrated experience in proposing and driving change initiatives/improvement programs.
- Have strong knowledge of HACCP/GMP/JHSC.
- Solid oral, written and listening communication skills necessary.
- Requires enthusiasm, initiative, and effective judgment in a fast paced, results-oriented environment.
- Must have flexibility and be receptive to sudden and frequent changes in priorities.
- A hands-on work ethic with creative problem-solving skills; disciplined, consistent and hard worker.
Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
